Anna Callendar
Died October 23, 1867
Per the book, “Champaign County, Ohio Newspaper Abstracts….. May 1855 to 1871”, published in March 2000 by the Champaign County Genealogical Society: Page 140: “March 29, 1866 – Married 22nd inst. By Rev. W. WEBSTER, Elisha S. CALLENDAR of 66th OVI to Miss Elizabeth A. BUTCHER, youngest daughter of Dr. J. M. BUTCHER of N. Lewisburg.”
On page 164 of same publication:
“October 31, 1867 – Died 23rd of October at residence of her parents, North Lewisburg, Mrs. E. A. CALLENDAR, wife of E.S. CALLENDAR and daughter of J. M. and Nancy BUTCHER of same place; she was born 20th of November 1843 in Belmont County; married 22nd Mar 1866 to now bereaved companion.”
Given the fact Anna Callendar’s stone is located next to the Nancy Butcher stone, it appears that Elizabeth A. CALLENDAR was formerly Elizabeth Ann BUTCHER, the youngest daughter of Dr. J.M. BUTCHER and wife Nancy (BROCK) BUTCHER. For whatever reasons, the stone was inscribed “Anna Callendar.”
