Peter Fahrny
Born March 12, 1830
Died March 13, 1916
Peter was born in Switzerland, son of Christian Fahrni & Magdalena Kneubuehl. Peter came to American between 1853-1855 and started out as a Cigar Maker. Later he was a grocery merchant in New Philadelphia and in 1873 he built a three story brick building, on S. Broadway, adjoining the City Block building which is still standing today. Peter married Dec 31, 1859 Marie Weber a widow of John Dahler. Peter and Marie had no natural children, however they did adopt 5 girls.
Buried in the mausoleum in Section 1, East Avenue Cemetery, Tuscarwas Co. OH
