"Died Dec 18 1851 Aged 39 y. 2 mo."
Daniel Rohrer died near Berlin, Holmes County Ohio, Dec. 18, 1851, leaving seven children-three sons and four daughters- to the care of his companion, although she was not permitted to care for them until they grew to manhood and womanhood, as she too, was called home in less than two years from that time - June 7, 1853- leaving her family to battle with the cold and merciless world alone, the eldest being sixteen and one-half years old and the youngest two and one-half years old.
