George Frederick Herrmann[son of George Wolfgang Herrmann and Catharina Margaretha Riess] was born on 21 September 1858 in Clermont County, Ohio and died on 27 December 1905 in Cheshire Township, Gallia County, Ohio. George was shot in the leg by his own gun while trying to cross a fence in December 1884 (Source: Gallipolis Tribune; December 25, 1884, page 2). He later died of consumption at the age of 48 (Source; Meigs County Death Records). Buried in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cheshire, Gallia County, Ohio.
