Children of John Brown (1800-1859) and his wife, Mary Ann Day. The children died of an epidemic in 1843: Charles (1837-1843), Peter (1840-1843), Austin (1842-1843) and Sarah (1834-1843). John Brown is best known as the anti-slavery abolitionist involved with the raid on a federal arsenal in Harper's Ferry, Virginia (now W.Va). He was later hanged for his involvment.
