Lester L. (Pete) Clark, 84, of Piqua, died at 2:43 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at Miami Valley Hospital Dayton. He was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Covington, to the late Charles O. and Erma N. Yaney. On Feb. 9, 1951, in Piqua, he married Doris L. Felver and she preceded him in death on April 25, 2007. Pete then married Doris E. Fenema on July 19,. 2008. She survives. Pete is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Rhonda Clark, Mt. Vernon; two daughters and son-in-law: Lois Etienne of Port Orchard, Wash., Carol and Brian Barnier of New Fairfield, Conn.; two sisters, Shirley Wackler of Covington, and Betty Staton of Lebanon; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed an exended step family of children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and six siblings. Pete graduated from Mt Vernon Nazarene College with a master's degree. He was a member of the Piqua Church of the Nazarene. Pete was a member of the Piqua American Legion Post 184 and Piqua VFW Post 4874. He made the military a career and he made being a pastor his second career. Pete proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II, Korean and Vietnam War. But to his family, he wasn't the Sergeant Major, or the esteemed-reverend; he was Poppa, caring husband, oh-so-fun Grandpa, Uncle Pete, constant joker, green-thumbed gardener, garage sale enthusiast, lover of wordplay, and a pretty good bowler. He was also a man whose faith was the real deal; he was perhaps one of the kindest people on the planet. He touched people all over the world and he'll be missed by many Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Piqua Church of the Nazarene with Lincoln Robinson and Pastor Steve Spoon co-officiating. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher.
