ADDIX, Charles H Cork 79 of Urbana passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 5, 1930 in Urbana, the son of Hobart and Jane (Shockey) Haddix. Cork served his country in the United States Army during the Korea Conflict. He was a truck driver for 46 years. He was a wonderful, loving husband of 52 years and father. Cork enjoyed life to its fullest; he loved traveling, sports, reading and he enjoyed his horses and cats. He loved to socialize with many friends at the liars table on the hill. Most of all, he loved spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Sophie (Sturm); daughters, Katy (Anthony) Cupps and Christel (Harold) Dingus; grandchildren, Joseph Brown, Anthony Brown, Jeremy (Marie) Brown, Jamie (Chrisler) Brown, Tammy Cupps, Janie (Sterling) Douglas, Charles (Jessica) Cupps , Eric (Elizebeth) Dingus and Scott (Sarah) Dingus; and many loved great grandchildren; neice and nephew, Dana Royce and Chris Haddix. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Ann Stewart; brother, Daniel and Dave Haddix; and infant sister.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 8 pm on Thursday, September 9, 2010 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 10, 2010 in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Terre Haute Cemetery in Terre Haute Ohio.
