This marble gravestone is located in the northern section of Bloomrose cemetery. It is marked on three sides, containing names for Decatur Washington Malott and his first and second wives, Rachel Lavina Waits and Elizabeth A (unk), respectively.
The south face of the marker is inscribed: D W MALOTT. BORN MAR 8, 1830. DIED SEP 18, 1905. Note Decatur's Civil War medallion.
The north face is inscribed: LAVINA His Wife. DIED OCT 24, 1880. AGED 45 Y'rs.
The south face of the marker is inscribed: ELIZABETH A. His Wife. BORN Aug 28, 1833.
This is the second marker for Lavina. She died before Decatur and a personal grave marker was previously set for her.
