Margaret 'Peggy' Kirkpatrick was born in 1797 in Pennsylvania, prior to her extended family's migration to the Big Darby Creek area in 1799. The pioneering group included her grandparents, Samuel Mitchell Sr and Margaret Alexander, as well as her parents, uncles and aunts. Margaret died in young womanhood on 2 Sep 1817.
