Elizabeth Mitchell was a daughter of Samuel Mitchell Sr. and Margaret Alexander. She was born 7 Apr 1765 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. On 30 Mar 1797, Elizabeth married Samuel McCullough. They had two sons, Alexander and Samuel Jr., the last arriving after her husband's death. Samuel died in the spring 1800 and became the first person buried on the Mitchell farm, beginning the Mitchell Cemetery. On 25 Jul 1805, Elizabeth married John Taylor, son of Samuel Leiper Taylor and Sarah Stewart. They had twins: Margaret and John Taylor. Elizabeth died 20 Oct 1846.
