David Mitchell was a son of Moses Mitchell and Jane Taylor. He was born 15 Dec 1820 in Darby Township, Union County, Ohio. On 20 Feb 1851, David married Mary Elizabeth Wingfield, a daughter of William Wingfield and Mary Ann Gamble. Mary Elizabeth was born in Clark County on 6 Feb 1833. David and Mary Elizabeth had eight children. David died prior to his wife on 26 Sep 1899 in Darby Township, Union County, Ohio. Mary Elizabeth died 15 years later on 3 Nov 1914.
