Fredrick was born in Alsace-Lorain, France on April 2, 1838, the son of Fredrick Lincks and Salome Haushalter (Householder). He was an ordained United Brethren minister, but worked the coal mines in Lawrence Township.
Mary Elizabeth Oyler Lincks was born in 1847 in Guilford Township, Franklin County, PA, the daughter of John Phillip Oyler and Mary Magdelon Fetterhoff.
John Merrill Lincks was unmarried and the son of Fredrick E. and Mary E. Oyler Lincks.
