Richard was born 1 Dec 1897 in Sharon Twp., Franklin Co., OH and died 23 Dec 1989 in Springfield, Clark Co., OH. He was the son of James Melvin and Ella (Clark) Morgan. In 1923 he married Dorothy Griffith. He served in the US Navy during WWII.
The following death notice was found on the Walnut Grove Cemetery website: Richard B. Morgan, age 92, formerly of Worthington, Saturday, December 23, 1989 in Springfield, Ohio. Retired Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds for Worthington Public Schools. Preceded in death by wife, Dorothy H. Morgan. Survived by son, Richard B. Morgan Jr. of Weirton, WV; daughter, Mrs. Molly Beller, Springfield, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Member, Ark Lodge 270 IOOF Worthington, Ohio. Veteran WWI US Navy. Last remaining Charter Member of the Leasure-Blackstone Post No. 239 American Legion. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral home, 515 high Street, Worthington, Ohio. Rev. Raymond A. Merz officiating. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial Walnut Grove Cemetery.
