Irving E Kastner, 53, died at 9:35 p.m. Sunday in the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, He had been ill one year.
Born in Piqua, Nov. 7, 1921, he was the son of Sam and Dina Glad Kastner. He was a 1941 graduate of Piqua Central High School.

He was married to the former Dorothy Goodman in 1946. She survives him. He was a member, past president and current secretary of the Anshe Ameth Temple and was a member of Temple Israel, Dayton.

He was a member and presiding officer of Warren Lodge 24, Piqua Chapter 31, Lafayette Council 93. He as also a member of Piqua Chapter 320 of the Order of Eastern Star, Piqua Elks 523 and was active in Scouting and scoutmaster of Troop 7 of Greene Street United Methodist church.

He was a member and immediate past president of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He was adviser for Junior Achievement and was member and past president of B-nal B-rith and was a member of Piqua Players. He was a former United Fund Board member and a member of the Piqua American Legion. He was a 13-gallon donor for the American Red Cross Blood Bank.

He was a World War II veteran and was a former partner with his father in the Kastner Scrap Iron and Metal Co., which closed June of 1974.

Surviving him are his parents, his wife, a son, Howard M, Cincinnati; a daughter, Marcia, Madison Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Fingold (Edna), Westbury Long Island, NY.; Mrs. Stanley Stamaty (Clara Gee), Elberon, N.J.; Mrs Stanley Benjamin (Edith) Canton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday in Anshe Ameth Temple by Rabbit T. Irving Bloom. Burial will bee in Cedar Hill Cemetery here. There will be no calling hours, but friends may call at the residence throughout the week. The family's suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish National Fund, Cincinnati.
