William A. White, 69, of Conover, passed away at 9:12 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, in Upper Valley Medical Center.
He was born March 21, 1935, in Champaign County, the son of the late William Edwin and Ella Mae (Orahood) White.
Mr. White retired March 21,1997, from Johnson Manufacturing, Urbana. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including mowing his grass; and had an avid interest in trains.
On Sept. 22,1956, Bill married the former Emma J. Lewis. She survives, along with a son, William Keith (Rhonda) White of Urbana; a daughter, Kimberty Kennedy of Conover; six grandchildren, Jessica (Ben) Williamson of Cable, Justin and Jamie Russell of Conover and Luke, Emily and Olivia White of Urbana; five great-grandchildren, Byler, Bishop and Lillie Williamson of Cable and Baylie and Lexiss White of Urbana; two sisters, Eva Thompson of Boyton Beach, Fla., and Hope LeVan of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Lee White, and three sisters, Alice Jordan, Frederica Dixon and Lucille Matthews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the St. Paris First Baptist Church, 138 W. Plum St., with the Rev. Dr. James Van Zile officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, St. Paris.
