Mildred M. Yocum, 93, of Champion, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Briar Hill Health Care Center in Middlefield, Ohio. She was born May 23, 1918 in Warren, a daughter of the late Charles Jacobs and the late Edna Thompson Jacobs.

Mildred graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and worked for Gray's Drug Store as a retail clerk. She was a member of Leavittsburg Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Paul J. Yocum, whom she married September 7, 1938, Mildred is survived by her children, Donald A. (Loretta) Yocum Sr. of Southington, Richard A. (Ginger) Yocum of Cortland, Paul D. (Jackie) Yocum of Champion, Ohio, and Patty (Terry) Baker of Champion, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and a sister, Bertha Logan of Champion. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Leavittsburg Baptist Church. where Dr. Kenneth Kern will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Champion Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material contributions be made to the Leavittsburg Baptist Church, 4150 Kincaid East Road Northwest Warren, OH 44481 in her memory

Paul John Yocum, 103, of Middlefield, OH, formerly of Champion, went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2016 at Briar Hill Nursing Home. He was born June 22, 1913 in Lisen Ring, PA, a son of the late William J. and Edith (Ridenour) Yocum. He married Mildred Jacobs on September 7, 1938 and they spent 73 wonderful years together, until her passing in 2012.

He was a graduate of Uniontown High School class of 1931, and he worked multiple factory jobs, including Mullins Manufacturing, Ravenna Arsenal, Republic Steel and most recently retiring from Packard Electric.

Paul was a 50 plus year member of Leavittsburg Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling in his early years and built the family home himself back in 1951.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Donald A. (Loretta) Yocum Sr. of Southington, Ohio, Paul D. (Jackie) Yocum of North Canton, Ohio, daughter, Patty (Terry) Baker of Champion, Ohio, daughter-in-law Ginger Yocum of Cortland, Ohio and 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Mildred (Jacobs) Yocum, son, Richard A Yocum, parents, as well as 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Leavittsburg Baptist Church, where Pastor Kenneth Kern will officiate. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on June 29, 2016 at Leavittsburg Baptist Church. Interment will be in Champion Township Cemetery, Champion, OH. Carl W. Hall Funeral Home has handled the arrangements

The family requests that material contributions be made to either Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44410, or Leavittsburg Baptist Church, 4150 Kincaid East Road NW, Warren, OH 44481, in his memory.
