Richard E. "Rick" Pulfer Jr., 53, of Jackson Center, passed away at 8:22 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008.

He was born April 28, 1954, in Bellefon-taine, the son of Richard E. Pulfer Sr. and the late Esther Jean Combs Shroyer Pulfer.

On Aug. 11, 1973, he married Malinda McKibben Pulfer, who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Jenny (Brian) Scoggin of Jackson Center; a son, Jason Pulfer of Jackson Center; grandchildren, Crystal Baker, Ashley Nielsen, Casey Nielsen, Jessica Nielsen, Taylor Scoggin, Derek Scoggin and Jacob Scoggin; father, Richard E. Pulfer Sr. of Wapakoneta; sister, Charlotte (Bill) Williams of St. Johns; brothers, Chester Shroyer of Sandusky, Jim Shroyer of Nelsonville and Steve Shroyer of Minster; mother-in-law, Delores Rose of Jackson Center; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany Jean Pulfer and a grandson, Christopher Noel Nielsen Jr.

Mr. Pulfer worked at NK Parts in receiving for 17 years. He attended Jackson Center Nazarene Church and was an avid softball player and coach, who coached several softball teams in the area. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing cards, especially poker, and was an Ohio State University fan.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sanford Funeral Home, Jackson Center, with Pastor John Leighty officiating. Interment will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher.
