Lois E. Boehringer, 96, of Piqua, passed away at 3 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015. Born on Aug. 28, 1918 in Miami County, Lois was a daughter of the late Ernest and Edith (Knoop) Wiltheiss. She married W. Eugene "Gene" Boehringer on Sept. 2, 1939 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 1984.
Together, they raised four children, three of whom survive: Linda (Sam) Weidner of Piqua, Jerry (Deloris) Boehringer of Bradford, and Michael (Jean) Boehringer of Bradford. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Melinda (Kevin) Curtis of Covington, Leanne Fogarty of S.C., Neal Boehringer of Bradford, Robin Golden of Pleasant Hill, Debra (Tom) Ryan of Covington, and Michael Del (Jan) Boehringer of Bradford, and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She is also survived by four sisters: Nellie Thornton of Erie, Pa., Janet Maxson of Conover, Peggy Drennan of Covington, and Carla VanHoogen of Boise, ID; one brother, Robert (Phyllis) Wiltheiss of Piqua and a son-in-law, Chester Snapp.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Snapp, grandson, Eric Boehringer, four sisters: Betty Carity, Mildred Weatherhead, Doris Elifritz, and Carol Woods, and three brothers: Donald, Ernest, and Jack Wiltheiss.
Lois was a member of the Union Baptist Church in Troy. She was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing, and making fish baits with her husband.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St. in Fletcher. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery
