Mary A. Helton, 79, Piqua, died at 8:03 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Koester Pavilion, Troy. She was born November 6, 1931, in Bonny Blue, Virginia, to the late Joseph and Lillie (Eldridge) Nimety. She married Glen Helton Jr. on April 15, 1949 in Harlan, Ky.; he preceded her in death on December 22, 1994.
Survivors include a son, Leon Helton of Tipp City; two daughters, Velma Sue (Mark) Fornshil of Piqua, and Gwen (David) Marlow of Quincy; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lewis (Sue) Nimety of Piqua. She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Helton; two brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Helton was retired from the Piqua Paper Box Company after more than 40 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, her pets, and time spent with her family.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 17 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Willard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
