Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Suber Shively Funeral Home, 201 West Main Street, Fletcher, Ohio with Bonita Wood presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher, Ohio. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 in the Suber Shively Funeral Home from 2-5 p.m.
Charles (Bud) W. VanGorden, Jr., age 53, of Fletcher, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 27, 2013 in his residence. Born on March 31, 1960 in Stuttgart, West Germany, Bud was preceded in death by his father Charles William VanGorden, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Jane (Sullenburger) VanGorden of Troy, OH. He married Deborah Ann North on May 16, 1980 and she survives in Fletcher, OH. Together they raised a son, Greg (Krystale) VanGorden of Sidney, OH and a daughter Sarah (Greg) Reinhard of Troy, OH. He was a loving grandfather to three grandchildren: Lorilai Borror and Marissa and Taylor VanGorden. He is also survived by four sisters: Diana (Keith) Niswonger of Fletcher, OH, Carol (Gary) Petry of Piqua, OH, Judy (Joe) Hatke of Piqua, OH, Marilyn Taylor of Piqua, OH and several nieces and nephews. Bud was a 1978 graduate of Piqua High School and worked for ITW in Troy, OH. In addition, he coached his children in soccer and collected Christmas houses. Bud also enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and spending time with his grandchildren.
