SHIVERDECKER, Onetta J, 87 of Seminole, Florida passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009. She is survived by one son, Richard Shiverdecker of FL; two daughters, Janet Moore and Darlene & Lee Miller all of Englewood; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great- great-grandchildren; and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years Darrel Shiverdecker in 1994 and one son Donald William Shiverdecker in 2002. Onetta was born and resided in Piqua, Ohio, she then moved to Dayton to raise her family, she then moved to Seminole, Florida where she had lived for the last 25 years, during the summer months of May - September she lived at Brookville Lake, IN where she enjoyed her friends Millie & Norm, June & Charlie Lane and many others for many years. She was a past member of the Corinth Boulevard United Presbyterian Church, was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and had attended Piqua High School. Onetta was a draftswoman and worked for TRW. She designed and drafted the landing gear that put Neil Armstrong on the moon; she also designed and drafted the gyroscope and donut that stabilizes & keeps the space shuttle level, and was part of the design team that created the artificial heart with Dr. Jarvic that is keeping people alive today. Onetta enjoyed life, was very social and active & full of wit, she loved to play cards, especially bridge and was a wonderful hostess at her home in Lake Seminole Estates in Florida. Private services will be held at the convenience of her family, burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher, Ohio
