Elinor Louise Slack, 97, of Dayton, died at 1:47 pm Friday, March 4, 2016 at Mayfair Village Retirement Center, Columbus. She was born April 15, 1918 in Dayton to the late Howard and Corene (Nagel) Kring. She married Maynard G. Slack March 29, 1941 in Dayton; he preceded her in death May 17, 2012. Survivors include three sons, a daughter in law; seven grandchildren;seven great grandchildren; sister-in-law, and brother-inlaw. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Nelson, Lester and Stanley Kring; a son David Slack; and a grandson Johnathan Slack. Mrs. Slack was a graduate of Northridge High School and was a wonderful homemaker all of her life. She was a member of Bearshear United Methodist Church of Dayton, Harrison Township Seniors Fun Band, Carmellia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Esterlita Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. A service to honor her life will begin at 12:00 pm Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Slack officiating. Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery.
