Janet was first married to Lloyd C Rose
Janet M. (Rose) Elsner, 75, of Fletcher, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, in her residence.
She was born Nov. 13, 1933 in Champaign County, a daughter of the late Ralph and Eva (Cooper) Kauffman.
She married Lloyd C. Rose on Nov. 15, 1952, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1970. She then married Eugene Elsner on Aug. 1, 1974, and he survives.
Janet is survived by four children, Tom (Jacqui) Rose of Troy, Ted (Lee) Rose of Xenia, Tim Rose of Conover and Terry and Jackie Rose of Fletcher; two stepsons, Jeff (Jackie) Elsner of St. Paris and Mike and Cheryl Elsner of Piqua. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Nancy Kauffman of Springfield and Philip and Ruby Kauffman of Urbana.
In addition to her parents and first husband, two daughters, Linda Kay Rose and Tondra Connolly, a son, Tony Rose, and a granddaughter, Danielle Connolly, preceded Janet in death.
Janet was a 1951 graduate of Westville High School. She was a member of the Fletcher United Methodist Church where she enjoyed the M & M's and was a former member of the choir. She formerly attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she was a youth leader, served as a secretary at Graham North in Rosewood and was a volunteer at Miami East North Elementary in Fletcher. She loved crafts and gardening.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Fletcher United Methodist Church, 205 S. Walnut St., Fletcher, with the Rev. Russ Tichenor presiding and assisted by the Rev. Marilyn Hardman. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
