Steven Hintz, 58, of Piqua, died at 6:19 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at James Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Columbus. He was born Jan. 20, 1949, in Dayton to the late Clyde R. and Micky M. (Meistad) Hintz.
On Sept. 9, 2006, he married Shirley Ganger in Houston. She survives.
Steven also is survived by one son, Jason Kellar of Houston; one daughter, Holly Kellar of Piqua; two sisters, Barbara Heins of Brookville, and Mary Jo Batteiger of Vandalia; a nephew,Peter Battinger of Vandalia; and special friends, Brittany Curry of West Milton and Tony Grissom of Piqua.
Steven graduated from Paterson Co-op High School in Dayton in 1967. He attended Houston Congregational Church, Houston, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Dayton. Steven was a police officer for the West Milton Police Dept. for many years. He also worked for Quality Farm & Fleet in Piqua for many years.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. at Houston Congregational Church with Pastor James Manuel officiating. Burial will be at Houston Cemetery, Houston.
