Samuel Vinton Pendleton, born Dec 25, 1889, Radcliff, son of Samuel M. and Mary Ann Burns Pendleton; sixth of 8 children

Ruby Pearl Bennington, born June 25, 1894, Vales Mill, daughter of Henry F. and Jane Perry Bennington; third of 6 children

Samuel Vinton, a veteran of World War I, married Ruby Pearl on July 7, 1923, Vinton County.

Parents of:
Arold Gordon, born and died Aug. 1, 1925; he is buried beside his parents.

Violet Lowona, born Sep 30, 1926, Radcliff

Daughter Violet married Bob Blackburn, a widower, in 1975; Violet and Bob are buried beside her parents.

Ruby Pearl Pendleton, 80, died at Mercy Hospital in Portsmouth, a resident of Radcliff. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter-Day Saints in McArthur, Elder Franklin Eberts officiating. Ruby was preceded in death by her infant son, her parents and two sisters and three brothers.

Samuel Vinton Pendleton died Dec 12, 1976,86Y, at the Veterans Medical Center in Dayton, a resident of Radcliff. He was a retired miner and employee of the railroad. He was a member of the Radcliff Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruby Bennington Pendleton, an infant son, four sisters and three brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Violet Blackburn.

Samuel M. (1853-1911) and Mary Ann (1858-1939) Pendleton are buried at Radcliff Cemetery.

Three brothers, James Franklin, John Lawrence, and Daniel Edward Pendleton are buried at Radcliff Cemetery; one sister, Susan Elizabeth Murray is buried at Radcliff Cemetery.

Ruby Pearl's parents, Henry F. (1866-1934) and Jane Perry (1869-1942) and one young brother, Robert Raymond (1898-1918, typhoid fever) Bennington and one sister, Elizabeth Cottrill (1888-1911) are buried at Bowen Cemetery, Vales Mill.
