GODDARD – Ruth L., 88, Johnstown, passed away April 1, 2011, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born Jan. 10, 1923, in Oscoda, Mich., daughter of John H. and Ora (Backus) Killmaster. Preceded in death by parents and husband, Edwin E. Goddard, who passed away May 18, 2010. Survived by daughter, Lynne Ann, wife of Dean Wigfield, Hancock, Md.; and son, James Edwin, and wife, Gracie, Portland, Ore. Also survived by grandchildren, Reilly James and Annelise Lorraine Goddard. Sister of Jacqueline B. Stanley, Indian River, Mich.; Ora Thomas Reed, Apple Valley, Calif.; and John H. Killmaster, Middleton, Idaho. Ruth was an active member of St. David’s Lutheran Church, Davidsville. Ruth, a graduate of Michigan State University, was a former home economics teacher. She was a long-standing leader in the Somerset County 4-H program, and was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, traveling and doing arts and crafts. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. David’s Lutheran Church, Davidsville, Pastor Jeffery Bassette, officiating. Interment to follow Friday in Terre Haute Cemetery in Ohio.
