Laban has been mispelled on census records as "Tabin", "Labin", "Laben", etc. most probably because Laban was illiterate and did not know how to spell his name. This stone and Civil War records show the name as "Laban" however. Margaret, his wife, is buried with him but her name was not added to the stone. She died 10 years after Laban.
