McGregor, John A., 1842 - 1923, Co. G. 42nd OVI; Maggie his wife 1849 - 1933; Clarence 1892 - 1894 John was born in Ohio January 12, 1842. John fought in the Civil War enlisting Sept. 19, 1861. His Company was engaged in 11 battles mainly in Mississippi. He was discharged Dec. 7, 1864 and returned to Cuyahoga County, OH. On November 21, 1867 he married Maggie McCracken in Cleveland who was born April 21, 1849 in Scotland. They had five children. John died September 17, 1923 in Garfield Hts, OH at the age of 81. Maggie was 84 when she died August 12, 1933 also in Garfield Hts. Clarence was John & Maggie's youngest child. He was only two (1892 - 1894). (section 4 lot 7 tier 2)
