October, 2nd 2004 the Thevenin Family place a Marker for John & Nicholas Thevenin brothers who served and died in the Union Army Civil War.
Nicholas has unmarked grave in the Florence National Cemetery Trenches he was a prisoner of war.
John also a prisoner of war his grave never found.
Nicholas b. 1827 Gallia, d. 30 Sep 1864 Florence, N. C.
John b. 1840 Gallia, d. 6 Mar 1865 on the way home from prison camp believe in Wilmington, N.C.
Both sons of Francis & Mary White Thevenin. They served in Co. F. 33rd. O.V.I.
St. Nicholas Cemetery is in Section 4 of Clay Township on Friendly Ridge Road.
