Mrs. Laura Baxter, 78, of 217 East Main Street, Carrollton, died last Thursday at her home after a sudden illness. She was a retired 30-year employee of the Surety Rubber Co. Born at Palarmo, a daughter of the late James and Zelda (Scott) Brackin, she was a life resident of Carroll County. She was a member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of Carroll Chapter No. 315 Order of Eastern Star and a member of Campbell Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include a son, Rex E. Baxter of Canton; two grandchildren, William & Robert and two great-grandchildren, Linda & Kathy. Her husband, Charles E., died in 1955. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Services were Sunday in the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home at Carrollton with rev. Henry Holyoak officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery, Carrollton, Ohio.
