Samuel Mitchell, Sr.

Margaret Alexander Mitchell

May 5, 1738 --- August 1, 1812

Samuel, son of David Mitchell and Jean McClellan married Margaret Alexander in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania about 1758. They had at least five children and nine grandchildren who migrated with them to the Ohio wilderness in 1799 where they settled on 1000 acres. Four children survived and settled in Union County with their children: Jane (Kirkpatrick), Judge David Mitchell, Elizabeth (McCullough) (Taylor), and Samuel Jr.
